- How much does the Pyroban kit de-rate the engine? | The Pyroban system is designed to work within the engine manufacturers back pressure and inlet depression limits. Providing the system is maintained, there will be no deration.
- What data do you require to design the Pyroban kit? | Engine make, model, rating, inlet airflow, exhaust flow, max.inlet depression, max. exhaust back pressure, exhaust temperature from turbo or exhaust ports (N.A engines)
- How long does it take to install a Pyroban kit? | With no experience, approx. 180hrs to fit and 25hrs for documentation.
- Do I need training to carry out the installation myself? | Fitting of the system should be carried out by competent persons preferably with prior knowledge of explosion protection systems and/or Pyroban training. Cranes and fabrication facilities may be required and an ISO quality system should be in place. Electrical installations should be completed by a COMPEX competent electrician.
If installing 3GP for the first time, it is essential for Pyroban to assist. - Can you protect any engine? | Both naturally aspirated and turbocharged engines are suitable providing they are water cooled. If the engine is turbocharged it must be available with watercooled manifolds and turbochargers. Electronically controlled engine packages are also available at extra cost.
- How do I handle certification? | See the certification page for further details.
- What is rigsafe? | Rig-safe is an undefined specification, sometimes referred to as 'added safety' for unclassified areas. It is NOT ZONE 2 and is unregulated.
- My installation is in the US, can you help me? | Yes, but we usually work to European or IEC codes accepted by many of our US customers. Contact us for details.
